Legal Aid

Anyone detained or voluntarily attending a police station for an interview is entitled to FREE legal advice at the police station and this advice can be obtained face to face or over the telephone.

Obtaining an expert defence Solicitor at an early stage is vital and public funding (Legal Aid) may be available for legal defence representation at either the Magistrates’ or Crown Court.BigStock_90006005

We will advise you as to the likelihood of being granted Legal Aid and any cost implications.

It is important to highlight that an individual who applies for Legal Aid and is assessed against the means test as having an annual household disposable income of £37,500 or more will NOT be eligible for legal aid in the Crown Court.

We assist clients in the completion of Legal Aid application forms and the provision of all necessary documentation in support of such applications, and where necessary, conduct appeals against the decision to refuse the grant of Legal Aid.
